Rosacea Facts

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition of the skin that effects millions of Americans. It may start as a general redness of the cheeks and nose. It may progress to bumps and thickening of the skin. It may be confused as "Adult Acne". It most commonly develops in people with fair skin in the 30-50 age group. The exact trigger for Rosacea is unclear. Rosacea can cause emotional distress and lack of self-confidence. There are treatments for Rosacea, but no cures. The redness and prominent visual veins of Rosacea may be effectively reduced with Intense Pulsed Light treatments. IPL is safe and effective in improving the appearance of Rosacea.
